Since its demo release in 2012, I basically hadn't touched Hellcat in a long time. In Easter of 2017 I released the long-planned -Born Again patch, which updated a lot of the graphics, refactored large chunks of the story, and while it's about the same length as the game which came before, it's upgrades make it feel brand new.<br />
<br />
It's full version will likely ditch the currently implemented battle system and make use of an engine similar to the one used in PFC.<br />

Easily the most over ambitious project I have concepted. Perseverance started out as an IGMC contest entry in mid 2014, it then became a lot more grown with its Adherence build, but Perseverance Full Clearance is the fully realized culmination of all its effort, with one of the most amazing art aesthetics and an amazingly massive scope of mechanics and levels, its execution is better than I could have ever hoped.<br />

Never have I been more pleased with a 3/14 demo release. Fantasia, while a bit lacking in the map consistency department, keeps well to my original vision of the game. It's easily my best written work. The gameplay could use some touch ups and there could probably stand to be more of it. But slight flaws aside, it's been an absolute joy to work on, and had 3 Let's Plays on its first day of release! I woke up after being exhausted and there they were, just- two of them, bam!<br />

Rolly's Origin Story, nothing much of it yet, but I've made a few reveals, mostly that it's going to play similarly to a classic beat-em-up, and the gimmick is that the hero Rolly, is immune to attacks from the front, also Rolling will be a big part of gameplay, as may be expected.<br />

Since Fantasia's idea a lot of people have shown major interest in helping out. Some characters have been so well received they'd gotten Fanart and full blown appraisals by fans before the game even had a release. I've had three new voice actors put their soul into this game and it's characters, Kate Holden is also back as the voice of Esperia, and Adoxographist is back as the voice of Fyori Felicee.<br />

He signed up to do the portrait work in Fantasia, a behemothian job, but despite floods, typhoons, falling down some stairs, and some hospital time. Pjcr managed, with the help of his partner, to get done the work he had taken on in time for the demo's release. He also helped significantly with both marketing and spritework in regards to PFC.<br />

<b>Jake "MoneyMenace" Gamelin</b></div>
After having developed an 80 Song OST for Intelligence, and a 48 Song OST for Menagerie: Remastered, you'd think Jake would have had enough. But lo and behold, eager to work again, he composed the 60 song Soundtrack for PFC, making the game both unique and memorable. As if that weren't enough, he also began work on the OST for Crowfeast, and recently has been doing different music experiments using leitmotifs and themes from the games and characters he's composed for. He also in celebration of 314, has made a distinguished chant utilizing the Leitmotif of Corporation XVI.<br />

After his debut doing two of the intense songs for Esperia's bossfight in Perseverance Full Clearance, Max M. Next up <b>Christopher Lykke Davids</b>, he'd been<i> one of us</i> a bit before last 3/14, and he was behind clothing the sprites of several of the Catty rascals in Intelligence 3/14th Clash, such as Pep, the four NPC cats and Snowball, as well as doing a complete wardrobe for Nola and Pep's 32x32 sprites in Perseverance: Full Clearance, this devotion and love for the craft has brought him quickly to being one of the Crazy Chimp Collective's Elite.<br />

Then <b>Amy Hohman</b>, while not officially a member who works directly for me, she does do cool stuff for the sake of the Collective sometimes, possibly one of the finest examples of this year being Art she did of Tac Talismina that not only made the character way cooler, but completely revolutionized her outfit.<br />

Next up is another honorable mention for <b>Jake "MoneyMenace" Gamelin</b>, this guy is either a workaholic or just loves his craft to the grave, despite working several long hours at both a workplace and taking classes of his own, he manages to produce high quality music content at an absurd pace, originally a 60 Song OST has now grown to 80 for Intelligence 314th Clash! And he shows no signs of stopping! Here's a couple of the highlights that I think show just how extroadinary his talents are.<br />

Firstly, a brand new project called FANTASIA is being worked on, it will be the CCC's first brave delve into Game Maker Studio, currently I'm working out systems and how I want the menu's, interface and all to go, then once I've got a solid foundation, I'll begin on the Game Maker Studio stuff itself!<br />

However, don't be misled, I have been doing a LOT on this project, and so has my team! We have a blog for it and it's been in the sidebar of this blog for months now, I often forget to update things on the blog, but I'll be sure to provide an update on what we've been doing after I've finished writing this up.<br />

It wasn't particularly eventful, but it held the same sentimentality that it always does to me. As of March 3/14 this year, the Crazy Chimp Collective turned three years old. Released 314th Clash (GEDDIT?) and we've no plans of stopping. It has been sadly slowed due to my personal projects dropping in priority to a course I'm taking for game design. But if we're lucky, I'll be making shit beyond most peoples comprehension soon enough!<br />

The thing I always find about marketing is that overdoing it makes me feel like a whore, but when everyone else is being a whore I have to just kind of think it's just me being proud and get over it.<br />

Where strength really has shown with marketing is places on Desura, Twitter and other social media outlets, some-- like Tumblr and Reddit, I just will not touch. Maybe I'll change my mind on that in the future, Tumblr, okay, mayyyyybe?<br />

So philosophically, what use is marketing?<br />
<br />
Well, even when you aren't concerned with making cash, it's very important, you are your brand, and it pays to be true as you can to goals you set. I've never had an issue with being transparent about what me and my team is doing, what we're working on. I like letting our players be informed, our players are awesome, and their feedback, while not always actively implemented, is very appreciated!<br />
<br />
I think being obstinate with details is both a good and bad thing, me and my team might tighten up once we get really popular, but since so far the sole representative is me, the one who does the systems designs, mechanics and often more art than is expected, I'm confident about what I tell players, and even when some object, that's good! That means, hmm, maybe I should make a compromise! It all comes down to what you do. For me, I'll never sacrifice gameplay for graphics, but there's a large difference in first look appeal and gameplay when you're marketing.<br />
<br />
If people can at first glance, see a beautiful, well-tailored world with stunning environments, they don't even need to see gameplay to throw down their current plans at world domination and eagerly await a release, but even better is showing the gameplay and art direction in play together.<br />
<br />
This is what I do when I make trailers, I record me actively playing the game, be that both in gameplay and cutscene stages, and most trailers these days feature gameplay because people started sussing out that pre-rendered trailers had the power to be brutally deceptive.<br />
<br />
If you look at any trailer I've done, it's got raw gameplay footage. From P to E, from M to I, it's all shown because I stake myself highly in the gameplay area.<br />

Look at this pretentious tryhard thing, the game might be good but this guy seriously has turned me off with a trailer that partakes in near every cardinal sin.<br />

He does show gameplay, a whole 2 seconds of it (walking around the map doesn't really count), and most of the game is heavily pre-rendered or rendered-over with video editing software, like it wants to hide something.<br />
<br />
There's more I could say, but it's not in my interests to bash this game, my point is that for marketing videos, it's pretty much worthless, it tells me nothing about the game except that you have to save a child. There's no real elements showing the developer himself even has a game to show, and heck, he might! But I can't see it!<br />
<br />
This sums up bad marketing practises perfectly, you can't be this vague, because we may as well be buying a 10 dollar lucky dip.<br />
<br />
Be open, you've got to get players on your side, I mean your developing games, you love doing that, but the people coveting or reviling those games are going to be players!<br />
<br />
I think most adherents of the CCC know I'm not very good at coding, which is why I use a program like RPGmaker, I'm self-aware, and I'll even sometimes <a href="http://i.imgur.com/Sc2Gy9O.png">completely lampshade that I'm a douche</a>.<br />
<br />
All the creative ideas, the epic gameplay, the large amount of lore and intrigue in a games world, it's all visible in the trailer, I make trailers to show what the game has to offer, and what its message is.<br />
<br />
There was an episode of Extra-credits about that.<br />
<br />
But Marketing isn't solely reliant on trailers, you have to be relentless, and t's tiring, and can at the end of the day, make you feel like an outstretched whore, but...<br />

There's not much else I can really say on marketing, you'll get used to it after you realize you'll need it to compete, even as a free developer, there are many free games, and you're ultimately going to be judge on your trailer and press, because there's a lot of alternatives out there. TAFE will begin on July 13th, and I will be taking to it with Gusto, so forget about me beyond that point unless you have me on skype. It is a full time course, but I am determined to do it, I should emerge an even more capable developer, that's the hope, anyway!<br />

It's always a bit of a worrying thing, losing the respect of those I'm so close too, even though my Stepdad has only been around a year, it feels like he's been there my whole life, and he's made a very positive impact on the family, I wish him no ill-will with what I'll be stating here, only hoping that he won't get too worried about things, so to that end, let's first clarify something.<br />

I've already told a lot of you, and I suppose this wall is a way of being more... modestly public about it.<br />

But there's nothing to be taken lightly about such a transformation, and it's likely I won't purely because I think being able to play parts of both male and female is an incredible power, possibly too much power for one person. Should I abuse this power Bugs Bunny style, let's just say I'm probably going to fair better than most.<br />

But I'd rather not, first because that blog well reflects what a mean-spirited cunt I used to be (and still can be from time to time), second because even as infertile as this blog is, it's more likely to be read by people who matter than... yeah. <br />

So, I'm sure one of the inevitable questions are, how will this effect you?<br />

For the most part, it won't. Unless you live with me, my games will remain amazing, my vernacular will not change, and my feminine photos will basically just be about on average as the usual you're used to. My fantasy of being a woman is a very casual one, in fact the last thing on my mind would be to at all sexualize it. Guess I'm just jealous of breasts, somehow. :0<br />

I think I see women and the way they are shaped as something I'd like to be shaped like, also the outfits they can wear are sometimes super awesome. There's also the-- as my bro calls it, "Breeze factor", this can be emulated somewhat with long jackets or trenchcoats, but there's something very magical about wearing a dress and feeling the wind flap it around your gams.<br />

That's more or less the attraction in the most obtuse way of getting it. It's not something I can truly explain, nor am I really at liberty to explain. Social prejudice has certainly dampened as time has passed, had this been even the 90's I'd have been far less keen to post something like this.<br />
<br />
I think some of us have certainly taken the heightened tolerance towards oddity for granted, and the internet never ceases to amaze with how tolerant some of its peoples are. I think a lot of what makes places like Tumblr and the like so thoroughly despised is that for their occupation, people who use their "oddities" as a privilege or as some sort of justification for entirely unrelated actions become representatives for the rest of that ken who'd rather just be accepted and say nothing more on it. I for one would never seek to use my oddities as a means of justifying anything in a non-satirical sense, when I talked about abusing these powers, that isn't what I at all meant. Some of the so-called "privilege-fags" almost see their life choices that they willingly took as some sort of thing others should be sensitive of, in reality, no-- that was your choice, I'll accept it, but hell no you ain't being pardoned from judgement of an entirely unrelated basis just because you're a dovahkin or whatever.<br />
<br />
You don't get to choose if you're white or black, or if you're gay or not, so for those people, being a little less crass to them when such a basis is involuntary is more than understandable, same goes for being a woman, since until pretty recently, Women were very disadvantaged in the social world and business world in comparison to men, and there's a large distinction between what can be done and what would be done.<br />
<br />
In most western countries (The south US doesn't count) Women are getting close to if not already equal to men in rights now, in the matter of legal affairs, business and the like. That's the best we can ask for, I think. There are ALWAYS going to be men who are misogynistic pigs, it's shitty that such a case is so, but it remains as something no amount of protesting will be able to fix.<br />
<br />
Just like there are always going to be extremists in groups, that's just the world we live in, the ideal is to simply ignore these people, unless they have a respectable chance of endangering our way of life, then you protest in return.<br />
<br />
Law is something that can and will be changed with enough pressure, Human nature is not, ideally, changing the laws will definitely guide some to be more tolerant regardless. I myself was once a very self-righteous person, insisting I was the only human being with any sense, but in that same vein I was representing well the exact objects I'd so fiercely loathed, upon realizing this, I changed... a lot.<br />

My blog posts on that other thing are a good showing of the past self I've left behind, nowadays I am fully aware it isn't my right to assume I know anything about Humanity, and instead of worrying about it, I'll just do my best to live out my life as awesomely as I can. I'll go over the brief plan for this hectic month of dev, but before I do i think it'd be vital to understand why I'm cramming what I am into this period of time.<br />

As the countdown until academic studies that start in Late July draw near, I want to finish the games off that i really like working on before I run out of time to do that, therefore, may is that goal.<br />

So what of June? Well!<br />

It turns out the IGMC (Indie Game Maker Contest) is going to be on yet again as I hoped, and since I was 14 days late and missed the deadline last year, this year I'll be going all out. So May will be reserved for finishing off my old IP's, and applying a bugfix here or there in June.<br />

Okay, now we've got that aired, what is the roster?<br />

<b>Intelligence: 314th Clash</b><br />
A wrap up at last to the story that stoked them all. I'm going to compress the last 4 episodes into a singular big content patch, which will be more refined and immediate, this is when things will really begin to ramp up. The 314th Clash will be quite a clash indeed, I'll give more info as it's release approaches closer.<br />
<br />
<b>Perseverance: Adherence</b><br />
Currently only a demo, albeit a solid, well fleshed out and polished demo, this game's full version will come out in May also, and will boast the entire 6 acts rather than the one for the demo.<br />
<br />
<b>Menagerie: Remastered</b><br />
It's final content Patch comes with the 16 tier eight optional bosses, more secrets, mini-campaigns, fixed memory banks and some other changes. Once this is released I will attempt to get it on Greenlight.<br />
<br />
<b>Exile: Endurance</b><br />
This charming and atmospheric game released on Pi Day 2014 will finally get the release it deserves, really looking forward to doing more on it!<br />
<br />
So, four releases in a month, am I insane? Possibly, but damn if I ain't gonna try! Most of the assets are already prepared, and what isn't will come before time is up. All of these are planned to go up on Desura free of charge. However Intelligence and Exile may be excepted since my composer likely won't have time to do an OST for both and I'm not sure of the legalities but it's a risk I'd rather not take.<br />

Actually Exile easily could, it uses Creative Commons music, by the really awesome Aaron Krogh, I'll just have to replace those couple ZOIDS: New Century and Invader ZiM tracks.<br />

3/14 marks the day in 2013 when we formed, which was exactly 2 years after I released Intelligence, my first game to get any sort of appeal, on 3/14 of 2011. Now we're in 2015, and my god do we have some accomplishments now!<br />

<b> Month of March, following Exile's Release</b>:<br />
After releasing the demo of a charming game about a Galaxion criminal who for her crimes, was sent to Earth to get her out of the Directorate's hands, the year began pretty quiet. So I figure since it's one of the less remarkable periods I'll go into the amusing political turmoil briefly alluded to in the video.<br />
<br />
In late February I got a rather unexpected message from a blind mercenary, an emissary from RMwebs itself. It appears that they got our skype chat logs somehow, and had they been more cunning the information they had at their disposal could have been damning, thankfully this is RMwebs, the opposite of cunning and endlessly deluded in their presence of power, especially over me. I was able to play along diplomatically in earnest to reveal that they did indeed, have our logs. It was outrightly admitted (and proven) that the logs were in their hands, now privy to this information, I basically told the emissary to fuck off and that I didn't care about her dumb artist problem or whatever. It appears the one I'd briefly inquired about (goes by Hirei in most places) was under the assumption I was in a mood to harrass her, given the logs she read, and had she done more research she'd have found I had virtually no interest at all. Anyway, she sent Indra, who was still a moderator on VX.net to work it out, and the silly woman tried to blackmail me (and I may add, into not doing something I had no real intent of doing anyway) by showing the logs to the VX.net fellas.<br />
<br />
That's right, those people who looked up to me like some sort of unorthodox god of chaos. I ofcourse knew this would fly as well as a brick, so I created the thread for her and said for her to 'go for it', I made it very clear I wasn't afraid nor that I was going to be bullied around by some imperial pissant from RMwebs, they exiled me, I don't have to play by their rules anymore. For some reason moderators and admins think as soon as they start stomping around that I'll fear them-- fair enough, most people wll comply, but I'm not most people, ruination awaits those who try to stifle me unjustifiably. Indra put forth a very cocky and arrogant demeanor, which made her very easy for me to feud with because people like that piss me off. Anyway, her little campaign ended up with me getting a 10% warn and only because I made the thread, me and one of the VX.net admins talked about it, and both of us concluded it was just a petty and entirely unnecessary campaign spurned on by an artist dabbling in affairs she knew little about. Though props to Hirei for sending someone my way who i didn't feel bad about upsetting later, because that spineless bint can't take criticisms on her pricing let alone handle a foul-mouthed arbitor of anarchy like myself.<br />
<br />
<b>Month of April, Joker's Gambit</b>:<br />
After that went about as laughably as I thought it would, I decided a video needed to be made cementing the idiocy in history, thus was born <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfTsnly_ThQ">THE CONSPIRACY</a>.<br />
<br />
This is where things got really interesting, on april fools is when i gave this to Indra as a sort of 'hey lets not do that again 'cause it was kinda stupid yo', she took it with much more hostility than I thought she would, showing that her coky demeanor was indeed just an act, and like that I'd unwittingly shattered her pride to bits. That said and this is where all of RMwebs constantly fail, is that I can't be beaten with a tough act, I'm one who is beaten with shame and guilt over my own actions, they had the fuel to do that, but they didn't because heaven forbid they look properly into a matter before firing guns, this is why I always prevail despite my fraction of a userbase and lack of resources, I do study, I look into my opponents, and find out what'll make them tick, and what they've done past and present so i can splash it in their faces. Anyway, after that whole debacle one of my agents informed me that Hirei was now more or less about as popular as a boring old rock at an overdressed granite festival and that Indra had started just whining about it, I found evidence of this and saved it, it's on my computer now. And from it all i respect Indra now, like as a result, because doing research lends you to see what good a person can also do, and Indra clearly has some talent with game dev, so much as I mock her for her feeble efforts at moderaton at least she can do what you join the rpgmaker community to do, y'know, make rpgs?<br />
<br />
I haven't heard from RMwebs or Indra since, sans some minor references which I'll get to later.<br />
<br />
Also on VX.net I put out a couple April fools jokes as is tradition, sadly I can't show you for reasons explained ahead. <br />
<br />
<b>Month of May: The Appeal of Absolution</b>:<br />
I began working on Menagerie: Remastered about this time, making vast changes across the board and making the game what it should have been but wasn't.<br />
<br />
<b>Month of June: Contest... more like COINTEST!</b>:<br />
This is where the year got good, and that big indie game contest was a thing, well I was allowed entry because Touchfuzzy is a cool guy, I missed the deadline, but it's okay, i doubt I would have won anyway for the following reasons.<br />
1. I'm me, and even if my game was without exception the winner, it wouldn't have won because it would mean condoning anything I do. And RMwebs won't do that.<br />
2. The Judges in the vast majority either had a problem with me or didn't know who i was, Touchfuzzy may have voted for me since he isn't a fucking sponge, but regardless it would have endangered a lot to do so, and Touchfuzzy's already been the impetus behind one site's calamity, though at least that was awesome while it was happening.<br />
3. Finally, and this is the most relevant reason, regardless of bias, this contest was a commercial ploy, and every contestant I've talked to has agreed and lamented such, but that's pretty much a no-shit reaction for me, since I've known a lot of the staff on RMwebs before RMwebs was even a thing, and I know it's not even them that push it much, it's the big dudes in Degica behind the western RPG Maker marketing and sales arm, they were hosting the contest. My submission wouldn't have won purely because I wouldn't have let them monetize it like the greedy fucking ratbags they are, and they know it.<br />
<br />
Regardless, I missed the deadline by a few hours because I failed to note (alike several others) that it was based on UTC, which strikes me as odd since the majority of rpgmaker developers are American, but hey, that's fiiine. Ars Harmonia nor Teardrop Distance won either, and I'll give you a couple guesses why despite being in the top two by user votes...<br />
<br />
Well come on, they aren't made in RPGmaker, it would have undermined the real purpose of the whole contest, so GG RMwebs, for being a predictable corporate toilet.<br />
<br />
<b>Month of July: Just a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha5D7s01xEE">Quintology</a></b>:<br />
Despite all this, I released Perseverance to my folks on Gamejolt, VX.net and some other places. Among the responses was someone touting me as some god of eventing, I modestly said nope, I'm just very good at finding out how much the system can take before it'll break. I regarded Perseverance, in its stinted one hour action-packed length as a success.<br />
<br />
<b>Quarter 3, The August, September and October Unremarkable</b>:<br />
For the majority of the remaining year I worked on Menagerie: Remastered! Correcting every grievance I had with the old.<br />
<br />
<b>Month of November, forever remember</b>: <br />
However I began to stress a little, so I spontaneously began working on Intelligence: Net-ready, which was a graphically updated, feature-expanded version of Intelligence designed to be a lot more fluid and, yes "Net-Ready!", it also ties into canon established by Menagerie: Remastered, Exile and Menagerie perfectly. I released that on on 13th of November 2014 or 11/1-3/14.<br />
<br />
Around this time, I ban evaded on vxace.net and appealed myself of my two year old ban, the staff actually gave me another chance, and I did my best not to screw it up, but it seems Galv, also a moderator on RMwebs fears me, I can't access the PM's that more or less confirmed it, but he showed clear concern over things I did, and began needlessly warning me for every post in which i didn't strictly abide to the rules, unsurprisingly, I told him to get his head out of his ass and to look before he shot bullets of idiocy, and what a tweest, this got me banned. Well I admit I was a little annoyed at first but then kind of relieved, honestly I don't think I've seen a more stunning example of a whimpy whining userbase since the World of Warcraft forums.<br />
<br />
One of the guys complained about me using the word gay in a harmless context ffs (when he wasn't gay himself and the line was so obviously not ill-natured it'd make Stephen fry ashamed), so I've concluded that RPGmakerVXace.net is basically Tumblr for RPGmakers, so you were right, Raginghobo, I guess I certainly don't fit in amongst a bunch of spineless little tarts who can't take criticism at all.<br />
<br />
Hell the only reason I appealed my ban was because VX.net had basically died because of some server error and iEntry cocked up somehow, which was moreso their less, the domain was worth over 10,000 dollars a year, and now it's GONE.<br />
<br />
So I dunno, get those Barista's who spilled coffee over the server a stable table or something.<br />
<br />
<b>Month of December, the final concourse</b>:<br />

All of VX.net was not lost, I rounded up whomever I could into a group chat, the VX.net chat as it's called, and now we have a small quiet though still awesome little forum called <a href="http://www.rpgarden.com/index.php">RPGarden</a>, don't worry that humungous tool XIX won't be a super mod for long and if he does anything outta bounds just let me know and I'll tell him to undo it and to stop being such a twat. Alike VX.net I'm more or less the site's secret prime minister, and while admins and the like are the ones who will manage dealing with crime, I'm the mute impetus behind each roll of the dice and each move on the board.<br />
<br />
Of particular note in December was the release of Menagerie: Remastered! on gamejolt and most RPGmaker places, it did pretty well! Once that was done I got back into doing art, and lots of it.<br />

Desura's release of Menagerie: Remastered would come much later.<br />
<br />
<b>Month of January, a happy new smear!</b>:<br />
Most of this month was relaxation after the hectic struggle to get M:R out, was arting like nuts, on the 23rd of this month, i was given the news Desura was ready to release my most recent submission on the 7th of the next month...<br />
<br />
<b>Month of February: Best Birthday Ever!</b>:<br />
For those who don't know, my Birthday is on the First of February (or 1/2 in non-American timestamps, see my infatuation with the number 12), but the birthday for me this month was a week or two in, when Menagerie: Remastered came out on Desura, which went far beyond my expectations, I was asked to take part in a journalist to developer interview as a journalist played my game, this went really well despite how noticably awkward I was in the call. On desura M:R, be it because it was free or what, took off in a massive way, before the dust had even settled on the games position we were #48th on desura, that was what we reached, no I'm serious, we were ahead of Five Nights at freddies 2 and fucking [i]Half-life[/i] for a little while, 5000+ pageviews and last a good while in the top 100 of the largest indie-catered game development and publishing platform in the world, it was truly amazing! We'd gone from Nobodies to being in the top 50 in a time faster than I could comprehend, we were in the top 1.5% of Indie games... this was the moment I knew, the polotics earlier in the year, all the palooka with VXace.net, it was all a moot point now, a concern bearing no need to further fixate on, I'd outdone them, not only that, I no longer needed them, hell i probably didn't ever need them, but i thought i did!<br />
<br />
Well, enjoy that RMwebs and that other place, me and my better 15 have outdone ALL of your pitiful efforts to make the better game, because I am not afraid to pursue what I believe in, I'm not in the industry to make money, I don't make just any games, you fucking casuals, I make <i>good</i> games.<br />
<br />
I really should thank you, though. For being such a constant pair of rivals, a presence ever felt, and a threat never-dismissed, even now I care about your opinions of me, for I would not bother to boast did I not, just eat the humble pie and admit it, I'm basically better than you in every regard, you mind-numbing corporately-indoctrinated hacks.<br />

Once upon a time we were all friends, and while that may never be a possible future, my only lamentation is that you became this way, I feel sorta bad ripping on you like this because i know deep down you're cool people, we we're friends once after all! But then you got a stick the size of nippon up your collective asses and acted like you're better than me just because you were exploited by Degica for profit, welp, hope you realize that so long as you act that way, I'm never gonna let you come out on top! The playable portion of the game so far stars Nola, Pep's accomplice and twisted friend, you may remember her if you played the original Perseverance, this is her indoctrination into the Perseverance Union, she's still shaken up from having her parents murdered so she hasn't got that really sassy streak yet, though you can see it start to form, and it's especially present if you find all the flavor text lying around, especially in the Nuclear Silo (Stage 2), you can see a bit of her ferocity when confronting Saxxis. The demo has Act One of Six that are planned, currently while polished there's only about 20 minutes of gameplay there, but that's fine for a demo, keep in mind that time is without deaths, or hold ups-- reading flavor text etc. Your lineage may vary.<br />
<br />

~Deep evented action combat, now with Shadowdash (invulnerability frames), Direction Lock (in other words, you can hold a key to lockstrafe.), new weapons (one of which you'll get to try in the demo) and platforming mixed in.<br />

~Intense Boss Fights<br />
~Epic Escape sequences (one is in the demo, and it uses teleporters and is awesome, the end?)<br />

~Brilliantly presented picture cutscenes (they're actually videos, so no desync and less filesize and chugging.)<br />

<br />
<br />Originally I intended to begin using Unity this year but a thought came over me much alike it comes over your mum when she realizes you exist because I do... I want to tie up these older projects first, past me is a brilliant little bastard though for you see two were graciously done already this year.<br />
<br />
Intelligence is so long now it's set to burst if I add another couple layers of content onto it and I feel it'd be better to rewrite it for its next iteration so it doesn't just end up being an act by act kill bad guy plot machine set to burst like a fat person at the buffet bar.<br />
<br />
For a game birthed from a period of chaos in my life it also strikes me as a bit too formulaic for it to be an episodic linear progression of boss after boss especially considering you play as an aloof green dog, a psychotic red cat and a snarky sheila with enough intelligence quota to make most of our current geniuses look like feeble idiots.<br /><br />
So, plans for projects then? Well let's begin with the big cat in the room trying to be an elephant in the room, but what this cat fails to realize is that no one gave much of a shit about it when it first came around and they care even fucking less now.<br />
<br />
<b>Hellcat: Born Again</b> is definitely going to be the most ambitious project. Thanks to being written back in a time where I hadn't stoneset the demigods and their motives and all that other shit a lot of it is going to be flat out retconned-- which I personally don't mind because<br />
A. the plot was an edgy uneducated mess and<br />
B. so was the fucking writing<br />
In fact given the success of Perseverance and my appreciation for the engine that I built it on it's very possible it'll be not so much a remake as just making the whole fucking game again but actually finishing it this time instead of pulling a curtain over your eyes alike shareware Doom95.<br />
<br />
Nola, Hellcat and most elements and other characters have gotten more deep or interesting and both characters have adopted much more endearing personalities since back in 2012 when Nola was just a slightly sassy brit and hellcat was a clueless chump.<br />
<br />
Heldath, Galvana and the Necropolis have all gotten a significant expansion onto their lore as well, and you can see some semblance of this in Menagerie: Remastered. The Perseverance battle engine is what I will likely use for Hellcat: Born Again, and like with Perseverance all weapons will be designed in advance and then the tools will be copy pasted with each map unless I decide I could stand to stop being so eager to overwork myself and just get an event call script instead. We'll see.<br />
<br /><b>Perseverance: Adherence</b> (NNF) is going to be more of an expansion pack, containing the game I originally planned and not the half-complete rush to finish piece of shit that came out and still managed to be competent at what it did. There's no way currently to connect the dots from Pep's actions in Perseverance and his presence in Intelligence and that's because there's a lot more to the "Red Rapscallion"s plot that had to be cut out due to time constraints for the contest. Some changes are planned to the mechanics indeed and the cleaver demands overhaul the most, I'll also be reworking the Enemy HUD and the regular enemies.<br />
<br />
I've also been heavily considering implementing some other additions to controls, currently the only invulnerability frames Pep has are when he gets hit, giving him a brief dash ability is planned for about 30 frames (half a second) of invulnerability, and giving him a stamina bar. My friend Mitch has provided me with scripts to help in this process. This command will likely not replace dash, however there's some Ambitious thoughts I've had for Perseverance and it's becoming more and more likely I'll just redo it and hellcat and maybe all three games in Unity. All three are action games and have left their RPG roots entirely behind, which begs the necessity of using RPGmaker at all, one thought occured to me when thinking of designing Perseverance, and it mainly came to the fact that assigning new keys is a nightmare in RPGmaker. I'd like to make weapon switching easy, and I've had some cool ideas for mechanics that in RPGmaker are clunky at best.<br />
<br />
Using Unity is becoming more tempting as I close off the two big RPG projects.<br />
<br />
<br />
Finally:<br /><b>Exile</b> is pretty solid as is, just needs its plot finished, and its plot that remains is so far up in the air, I've only storyboarded what you have seen so far but I have had some vague ideas of where it'll go and some suggestions from others I've intended to implement.<br />
<br />
It's tempting to also use the Perseverance Engine for it, since as an engine it is so solid and I can fix fuckups easily by virtue of inventing them and it never has those problems all ABS's do of being about as well optomized for frame rate as your Dad is for discovering what you spent the last six months of your life doing.<br />
<br />
Since most of the weapons in Exile so far are pretty simple, it's safe to assume this wouldn't be much of a stretch at all. I've even thought of a way to introduce environmental combat, such as throwing bins at enemies or smashing windows and doors down.<br /><br />
It's also very likely that at least one, if not all three of the planned finish ups in this year are going to be artistically coherent for the most part. The styles may still vary for each, as an example Hellcat is likely going to use the more enigmatic heavy outline style I began working with around middle to late year. Such will match the tone and style of the game fairly well. Perseverance is likely going to be done entirely in MSpaint, originally it was going to be all Sai work but that became far too ambitious especially given that Pep's faceset grew a bit too... humane. Exile will be much more like a cartoon, given the 90's feel it emits and the plethora of cartoon vibes it carries. Whether I'll use my MSpaint style or Sai style is up in the air, but I'm leaning on my MSpaint style just because a lot of panels are already done to that effect and most of them look really fucking good.<br />
<br />
<b>Other Plans</b>: I'm looking forward to seeing where this year takes me, first order is to add the content patch for Menagerie and finish it for good, then it's likely I'll give a good try out to Unity. One thing I'm growing incredibly ill-disposed towards are tilesets. As I've become better with art I've more or less decided I want to make cinematic <genre>s. Even Menagerie is referred to as a cinematic RPG. That does not at all mean I want to take away gameplay, in-fact the main reason I'm considering Unity is for the benefit of a smoother and more fast-paced gameplay experience. i could certainly do Cinematic games in RPGmaker if I wanted, the draw to using Unity is in impressing on gameplay.<br />
<br />
That all said, I'm sick to death of working with tilesets, and I'd like to just start drawing everything in a pre-rendered way like how Oddworld is rendered. One of the factors and past hobbies that led to game design was my infatuation with designing levels and buildings. And you can see when looking at Planet haven that I can make truly beautiful maps when i put my mind to it, and Rensooi Tower was definitely one of the most fun "dungeons" I designed in Menagerie.<br />
<br />
To that end, you may be surprised to hear that i've already mapped out (albeit, pretty roughly) all of The Equation Unsolved, in fact most of it was mapped in my head the moment I drew its first concept.<br />
<br />
Another huge advantage to working with unity is the matter of layers, in RPGmaker you have a parallax, a tilemap and then a picture overlay if you want. In unity you have as many layers as you want and that's great. The other great pointer about pre-rendered maps is that transitions can be very creative and picture cutscenes can go to a whole new level with infinite layers.<br />
<br />
This will mean a lot of pre-planning alike Exile, and I'm fine with that.<br />

Originally
I intended to begin using Unity this year but a thought came over me, I
want to tie in and wrap up these older projects first, and of those two
were graciously done this year. Intelligence is so long now it's set to
burst if I add another couple layers of content onto it and I feel it'd
be better to rewrite it for it's next iteration so it doesn't just end
up being an act by act kill bad guy plot machine. That's just a bit too
formulaic for a game in which you play as an aloof green dog, a
psychotic red cat and a snarky sheila with enough intelligence quota to
make most of our current geniuses look like feeble idiots.</div>

<b>Hellcat: Born Again</b>
is definitely going to be the most ambitious project and due to being
written back in a time where i hadn't stoneset the demigods and their
motives a lot of it is going to be flat out retconned, which i
personally don't mind because A. the plot was an edgy uneducated mess
and so was the fucking writing, some of the vets here can attest to that
fact.</div>

In
fact given the success of Perseverance and my appreciation for the
engine that i built it on it's very likely it'll be not so much a remake
as just making the whole game again, Nola, Hellcat and most things have
gotten more deep or interesting personalities since then and Heldath,
galvana and the necropolis has all gotten a significant expansion onto
the lore. The Perseverance battle engine is what i will likely use for
Hellcat: Born again, like with Perseverance all weapons will be designed
in advance and then the tools will be copy pasted with each map.</div>

<b>Perseverance: Adherence</b>
is going to be more of an expansion pack, containing the game i
originally imagined and not the half-assed rush to finish piece of shit
that came out and still managed to be competent at what it did. There's
no way currently to connect the dots from perseverance and Intelligence
and that's because there's a lot more to the "Red Rapscallion"s plot
that had to be cut due to time constraints for the contest. Some changes
are planned to the mechanics indeed and the cleaver demands overhaul
the most, frank said it himself, the Cleaver has no applicability to the
game at all when you get it and he's right, it will be thought on the
coming months.</div>

Finally:</div>

<b>Exile</b>
is pretty solid as is, just needs its plot finished, and its plot so
far is up in the air, I've only story-boarded what you have seen so far
but i have had ideas of where it'll go. It's tempting to also use the
Perseverance Engine for it, since as an engine it is so solid and i can
fix fuckups easily by virtue of inventing them. Since most of the
weapons in Exile are pretty simple, it's safe to assume this wouldn't be
much of a stretch at all. I've even thought of a way to introduce
environmental combat, such as throwing bins at enemies or smashing
windows.</div>

It's
also very likely that at least one, if not all three of the planned
finish ups in this year are going to be artistically cohorent for the
most part. The styles may vary between each, for Example Hellcat is
likely going to use the more enigmatic heavy outline style i began
working with around middle to late year. Such will match the tone and
style of the game fairly well. Perseverance is likely going to be done
entirely in MSpaint, originally it was going to be all Sai work but that
became far too ambitious especially given that Pep's faceset grew a bit
too... humane. Exile will be much more like a cartoon, given the 90's
feel it emits and the plethora of cartoon vibes it carries. Whether I'll
use my MSpaint style or Sai style is up in the air, but I'm leaning on
my MSpaint style just because a lot of panels are already done to that
effect.</div>

Contrary to the title, some Tier 5 and 6 bosses are being cut, mostly because a few changes are being implemented for those tier weapons and the tier 7 weapons.<br />
<br />
First off, tier 7 weapons will no longer require Materials that drop coversely from bosses of the previous tiers.<br />
<br />
The same with Tier 8 weapons.<br />
<br />
Getting a full set of tier 5 and 6 weapons will now be doable via the maximum amount you get from the progressive arc. There is no longer a splitting arc, this was a cool idea, certainly, but had some glaring issues, such as backpedaling to content that by that stage should be easy.<br />
<br />
Galvana will not be visited in the Remastered edition.<br />
<br />
Heldath and the Necropolis will, and both already have plans drawn.<br />
<br />
Bosses tier 6 and beyond will rely little on giving players states that can be dispelled, usually because these states are horrifically imbalanced or unforgiving. Doing nothing or watching the gameplay for you isn't fun gameplay.<br />
<br />
As states, berserk, villain, sleep, confusion and stun might get the chop all together.<br />
<br />
Silence has been reworked to be significantly less powerful.<br />
<br />
To ease people in a little to the optional content, the Space Pirates of tekerlek will assist in the first few battles.<br />
<br />
Before the roster for optional bosses was sketchy, now it is simply...<br />
-Tier 5 has three encounters, two of which host 2 enemies. (5 enemies all up... Saarkrell & Bonesworth, Twin Exarchs)<br />
-Tier 6 has six encounters, one having a "slave and master" boss.<br />
-Tier 7 has 4 encounters based off our other IPs (Intelligence = Dislocated Remnants (Roll,y Pep Tristy and Limbo boss fight), Hellcat = Entropic Hellions (Hellcat + Nola), Exile = Exiled Echo (Lyza on her own.), Perseverance = Esperia (multi-formed boss).<br />
-Tier 8 is host to 16 unique battles, each with a member of corporation XVI, the first is the evented battle with Impetuous Susurration (He who came twelfth), then in numbered order until Member XVI is defeated (skipping 12)<br />
-Tier 9 has a so far undecided amount of bosses. Mostly they will be ideas that foreshadow possible future projects. The estimate currently is 4 female bosses and four male bosses and one boss group, but plans could change.<br />
<br />
-Tier 9 is very likely to have some evented bosses.<br />
-Upon defeat all optional bosses drop items that are otherwise obtainable, the rare crafted materials are now given through event commands after the bosses are saying their piece to avoid over-abundance early on with thanks to an item like Lyza's Sleight of Hand.<br />
-Killing each optional boss tier 6 and up should feel like an achievement, tier 5 is more or less a weening tutorial stage.<br />
-The developer definitely wants to do more things like He who came twelfth.<br />

-Zinyi's sprite was missing the mask/scarf on his face, this has been corrected.<br />
-Did dialogue, maps and setup / mechanics for two bosses. The White Wyrm and Dual Exarchs. <br />
-Began work on Tekerlek Tier 5-6 legendary quest chain. All space pirates now have a face and sprite.<br />
-Updated the intro on tekerlek, will begin now on writing out more of that and making maps for the shenanigans involved, etc.<br />
-Made a Tier-progression chart through the dual split narratives, the Byteopian/Spriteopian questline and the Tekerlek/Draik questline, the former firstly by Cid and Kyu, then later a Mysterious Questant whom will remain ominous and spoooky for now, oooOOOOoooooOOO!!!<br />
-These will both land on Tier 7's branch beginning with either the Dislocated Legends > Entropic Hellions or Exiled Echo > Esperia, both paths will lead into Highlord Naxon, once he is defeated that will lead into Tier 8, beginning with the 12th Dimensional Phantom... He who came Twelfth.<br />
-After this you are sent to Galaxia and enter the PORT4L there, where in you fight the first real Corporation XVI (Tier 8) boss, Cerebral Inflection, after bypassing him you will then fight each member in order, Farcast Seraph, (Member II), Umbral Mirage (Member III) etc. until you reach he who is 16th. LORD SPANISH will be the ultimate guardian and final boss to dispatch of before a full set of Tier 8 weapons are yours.<br />
-You can then enter Tier 9 through an ominous gateway in Corporation XVI's splintered reality that leads to an unfortunate alternate timeline demonstrating how much the galaxy may have been fucked up had the Corporation not taken the correct procedures to attain their selves back. This will be a very unsettling and eerie part of the game and will be host to the most difficult and terrifying optional bosses, but whom will drop rewards that can be acquired nowhere else. Unlocking Tier 9 will also unlock Zardari's HARDMODE in which he is phenomenally more difficult and hits far harder than he does prior to Tier 8 completion.<br />

You can't imagine the amount of motherfucking yes.To celebrate my re-integration on VXace.net and give them more alleged "dope" games, I am-- and have been for two straight days already, fixing up Intel 1.1.9 to the newest slew of graphics, better sound effects, audio and performance, and finally some tuning changes and a bit of writing rework. Overall, most of that is already done, all that remains is updating Hellcat's art (which means actually doing some from-scratch art instead of stapling old shit together), fixing up a few event graphics with Blu, giving the spell "Angel of Death" an icon, and fixing bugs, hunting down bugs again, and fixing those bugs too.<br />

But for now, I'm gonna sleep. Two days of all work (enjoyable as it is) is taxing on one's brain, even one with a brain as superb and creative as mine! I'm going to therefore refresh, get my shit together, and release this game on the 13th of November this year. That's only two days from now.<br />

While I'm cleaning up the pieces, feel free to salivate on the idea of a fresh build of Intelligence, boasting the same hideous palette that you got through the first time, but with a bunch of new shit, updated art, planets that don't look like they were generated in Gimp sphere designer and a slew of other shit I have already forgotten about.<br />

One big thing though, is that you'll have access to what <i>is there</i> of the toted "Content Patch 1.2", this includes the Skybridge assault, which to this day no lucky fella has had a chance to try out; and I keep linking <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHagWq51wz8">that video</a> and showing it off like the unbelievable tease I am, whilst selfishly hogging it and its secrets all to myself like some scaly old dragon with his hoard of princesses, gold, gems and half-digested farmer hats.<br />

Well that selfish dragon is getting some lawyers together and having a tea party with Hitler in his bachelor pad down there in <u><i>hell</i></u>, because by my good graces his treasure will soon be your treasure, too. I like to think i'm a pretty generous guy! Unlike that shitty whore of a dragon.<br />

As for Menagerie, it'll resume progress on about the 21st of November (that's the hope for now, anyway!), leaving just over a month to get it rolling.<br />

I suppose now I should unveil that Menagerie:Remastered does have a planned release date... I talked about this somewhat during the grand reveal, but it was an earlier time then, and I still won't release it if it isn't ready by it's time. So far and until this day all you have gotten is 'coming soon' and some sketchy dates that meant practically nothing, so given I'm only resuming on the 21st of THIS month and said there's just over a month until the planned time, that leaves us with the release date below, though if you're clever, you'll have figured it out already.<br />

Well it has both 12 and 3/14 in it, it also is two days before Christmas, you know...? that thing people celebrate about a big red jolly fatman who hands out gifts like Opera Winfrey?<br />

Well, having a two day breakpoint will be beneficial to most, for me, it'll give me at least a week to enjoy Christmas and get all that shit sorted out, get my University confirmation and all that palooka, it'll also mean people who want to play it at release can do so without cutting into valuable Christmas time.<br />

It'll also make it like a sort of christmas gift. Which I guess is cool? Yes, I'll let that land on "cool" for now, speaking of now, and what I'm going to do the right of now... I'm going to shatter this hypothetical glassy mess illusion metaphor-thing, turn my PC off, and rock my hurt butt off to sleep.<br />

I have decided against making deadlines, outside of brief goals, such as within this year! I think that's always been the plan for M:R, and it's getting stupidly close to reality. I've been able to lax on dev a bit recently, due to how much I've gotten done, but there is still a fair bit, but I've got ideas of how to manage what remains, and a progress Log over on <a href="http://www.rpgmakervx.net/index.php?showtopic=61724">the games thread</a> to keep my progress active.<br />

Obviously, 12/12/14 would be the MOST AWESOME date to release it, but I'm leaning on 12/23/14. That has 12, but also 314 in it. But for all we know, I could hold off until 1/2/15, or 11/22/15, or I may make it as early as 11/22/2014, when you have 1, 2 3 and 4 to work with there becomes less narrow gaps to fill. Though 12/13/14 is the ideal, it's great this year ends in 14, makes this numerical bullshit I feel I just have to do much easier to propagate.<br />

But the idea is that for now, the game is only coming "Soon", how soon could be between 5 weeks to five months. You'll just have to trust that no matter how far away "soon" is, that I will provide the most premium quality product when such totality comes full circle. There are some who will look over the last 5% of their project's development in anticipation to release the game, but I am not one of those people. That is why I've stopped using deadlines, because it may mean that I "have" to release a game, even if it isn't quite ready. This was largely at fault for the original failing of Menagerie, at launch it was unplayable because of game breaking bugs. The game felt like a let down to itself.<br />

Not this time. The only Remastering I'm having around to release is one worth of showing, a clear example of mastering what you had, and refining it to be incredible amounts of not shit.<br />
<br />
Granted, Menagerie was still a success, and I'm sure there are going to be people, rare however-- that will say the original was better than Remastered. Menagerie's failings were in its lack of character charm, poor balance and exploitable combat and fusion systems.<br />
<br />
I also tried to cover way too many topics, and do too much in one game, now it should, while still being big, not feel over-packed.<br />
<br />
