Or maybe dev-a-thon, or yeah.
This two weeks will be fully-fledged development progress on Menagerie, the progress log for Week 1 will be maintained below, week two will be a new post. The most recent changes documented highest on the list. Let's just say development is gonna be unreal these next two weeks, and I'd hope so, as that's the time i have to FINISH what remains, which is a lot, but we'll do it guys, I promise! In fact, I have already begun!

-Zinyi's sprite was missing the mask/scarf on his face, this has been corrected.
-Did dialogue, maps and setup / mechanics for two bosses. The White Wyrm and Dual Exarchs.
-Began work on Tekerlek Tier 5-6 legendary quest chain. All space pirates now have a face and sprite.
-Updated the intro on tekerlek, will begin now on writing out more of that and making maps for the shenanigans involved, etc.
-Made a Tier-progression chart through the dual split narratives, the Byteopian/Spriteopian questline and the Tekerlek/Draik questline, the former firstly by Cid and Kyu, then later a Mysterious Questant whom will remain ominous and spoooky for now, oooOOOOoooooOOO!!!
-These will both land on Tier 7's branch beginning with either the Dislocated Legends > Entropic Hellions or Exiled Echo > Esperia, both paths will lead into Highlord Naxon, once he is defeated that will lead into Tier 8, beginning with the 12th Dimensional Phantom... He who came Twelfth.
-After this you are sent to Galaxia and enter the PORT4L there, where in you fight the first real Corporation XVI (Tier 8) boss, Cerebral Inflection, after bypassing him you will then fight each member in order, Farcast Seraph, (Member II), Umbral Mirage (Member III) etc. until you reach he who is 16th. LORD SPANISH will be the ultimate guardian and final boss to dispatch of before a full set of Tier 8 weapons are yours.
-You can then enter Tier 9 through an ominous gateway in Corporation XVI's splintered reality that leads to an unfortunate alternate timeline demonstrating how much the galaxy may have been fucked up had the Corporation not taken the correct procedures to attain their selves back. This will be a very unsettling and eerie part of the game and will be host to the most difficult and terrifying optional bosses, but whom will drop rewards that can be acquired nowhere else. Unlocking Tier 9 will also unlock Zardari's HARDMODE in which he is phenomenally more difficult and hits far harder than he does prior to Tier 8 completion.
-More to come!
Music of the Day!

Two Week Type-a-thon
To my superiors, I am Robert, to my inferiors... I am Mr. Clark, but to my friends, I am Biz.
An almost anarchist who began his grassroots in game design with tabletop games written in MS Word, Modules in Neverwinter Nights, Projects in RPG maker, but now finally, I am moving onto Unity.
Feared by many, respected by more. I'm a pretty okay guy, and my story to non-profit aimed success has just been make what I want to make. And make something of it.
So I have done just that.

Intelligence: Ready for return? Yes. Hell yes! You can't imagine the amount of motherfucking yes.
To celebrate my re-integration on VXace.net and give them more alleged "dope" games, I am-- and have been for two straight days already, fixing up Intel 1.1.9 to the newest slew of graphics, better sound effects, audio and performance, and finally some tuning changes and a bit of writing rework. Overall, most of that is already done, all that remains is updating Hellcat's art (which means actually doing some from-scratch art instead of stapling old shit together), fixing up a few event graphics with Blu, giving the spell "Angel of Death" an icon, and fixing bugs, hunting down bugs again, and fixing those bugs too.
But for now, I'm gonna sleep. Two days of all work (enjoyable as it is) is taxing on one's brain, even one with a brain as superb and creative as mine! I'm going to therefore refresh, get my shit together, and release this game on the 13th of November this year. That's only two days from now.
11/13/14...
There again I go with 3/14, except instead of being 03/14/yr this time, it's da/y3/14.
There's no method to my madness, only madness to my methods... in fact I invented that release date just now, and it is an AWESOME release date, not only because I can yet again use 314 in a date, but because at 6PM that same day (my time) I'll be gone... for you see the lusty maiden of a game will be calling for me with its alluring new swansong. I cannot just neglect that teasing skank, she has my money and my credit card details and also definitely my love and interest.
In case that insufferable and obnoxious poetry was too much for you to decode, I'm speaking of World of Warcraft, its Warlords of Draenor expansion launches on 11/13/14, so while I drop this game hot off the presses mere minutes before this titan falls, I'll then be quickly absolved by that exact titan, and will check out the slews of feedback over on vxace.net when I return.
I'll be a while, but that shouldn't matter, as a lot of feedback will likely be delayed due to this game having its prongs in everyone's minds. That's fine, I'll check the thread at least once every 12 hours or so for game-breaking bug reports, and other bug reports. I'll fix those since those people who are wise enough not to be ensnared by the throes of this woeful self-sabotage-inducing monstergame may want to actually play my game beyond the breakpoint. I will respect that, in fact if some fucker is loyal to that degree, I am downright HONORED to devote to that dude.
The kid gloves are coming off, now... not just off in a smug catwomen way where you just remove them like some half-breed of badass. I'm talking they are downright shooting off, on rockets of nitro-imaginatrine. Those velvet feelers jetted off and crashed through the kitchen window, glass is everywhere, Mother will ask what happened, and I will say the only true answer: 'I materialized imaginary fuel'. I go to raise my hand up as if to give a lecture about it like some pompous sensei elder-sage, but then realize I didn't have much else to say on that and just sort of stutter a little before turning back around to the window in defeat, then I start perspiring again because I realized that there's still glass all over the fucking floor and a good chance moving one inch might mean an annoying piece of glass in my bare foot.
While I'm cleaning up the pieces, feel free to salivate on the idea of a fresh build of Intelligence, boasting the same hideous palette that you got through the first time, but with a bunch of new shit, updated art, planets that don't look like they were generated in Gimp sphere designer and a slew of other shit I have already forgotten about.
One big thing though, is that you'll have access to what is there of the toted "Content Patch 1.2", this includes the Skybridge assault, which to this day no lucky fella has had a chance to try out; and I keep linking that video and showing it off like the unbelievable tease I am, whilst selfishly hogging it and its secrets all to myself like some scaly old dragon with his hoard of princesses, gold, gems and half-digested farmer hats.
Well that selfish dragon is getting some lawyers together and having a tea party with Hitler in his bachelor pad down there in hell, because by my good graces his treasure will soon be your treasure, too. I like to think i'm a pretty generous guy! Unlike that shitty whore of a dragon.
As for Menagerie, it'll resume progress on about the 21st of November (that's the hope for now, anyway!), leaving just over a month to get it rolling.
I suppose now I should unveil that Menagerie:Remastered does have a planned release date... I talked about this somewhat during the grand reveal, but it was an earlier time then, and I still won't release it if it isn't ready by it's time. So far and until this day all you have gotten is 'coming soon' and some sketchy dates that meant practically nothing, so given I'm only resuming on the 21st of THIS month and said there's just over a month until the planned time, that leaves us with the release date below, though if you're clever, you'll have figured it out already.
12/23/14
So, why this day?
Well it has both 12 and 3/14 in it, it also is two days before Christmas, you know...? that thing people celebrate about a big red jolly fatman who hands out gifts like Opera Winfrey?
Holy shit do those two have a lot in common.
Well, having a two day breakpoint will be beneficial to most, for me, it'll give me at least a week to enjoy Christmas and get all that shit sorted out, get my University confirmation and all that palooka, it'll also mean people who want to play it at release can do so without cutting into valuable Christmas time.
It'll also make it like a sort of christmas gift. Which I guess is cool? Yes, I'll let that land on "cool" for now, speaking of now, and what I'm going to do the right of now... I'm going to shatter this hypothetical glassy mess illusion metaphor-thing, turn my PC off, and rock my hurt butt off to sleep.
I'm not actually butthurt in the typical sense, my butt is literally aching from sitting in my chair for near two straight days. Straight being the choice 'irony' word here.
Fare thee well distant nerds, I am become Banan', yellow-cored bentman of butt-hurted.

Menagerie: Remastered - Grand Reveal
I have decided against making deadlines, outside of brief goals, such as within this year! I think that's always been the plan for M:R, and it's getting stupidly close to reality. I've been able to lax on dev a bit recently, due to how much I've gotten done, but there is still a fair bit, but I've got ideas of how to manage what remains, and a progress Log over on the games thread to keep my progress active.
Obviously, 12/12/14 would be the MOST AWESOME date to release it, but I'm leaning on 12/23/14. That has 12, but also 314 in it. But for all we know, I could hold off until 1/2/15, or 11/22/15, or I may make it as early as 11/22/2014, when you have 1, 2 3 and 4 to work with there becomes less narrow gaps to fill. Though 12/13/14 is the ideal, it's great this year ends in 14, makes this numerical bullshit I feel I just have to do much easier to propagate.
But the idea is that for now, the game is only coming "Soon", how soon could be between 5 weeks to five months. You'll just have to trust that no matter how far away "soon" is, that I will provide the most premium quality product when such totality comes full circle. There are some who will look over the last 5% of their project's development in anticipation to release the game, but I am not one of those people. That is why I've stopped using deadlines, because it may mean that I "have" to release a game, even if it isn't quite ready. This was largely at fault for the original failing of Menagerie, at launch it was unplayable because of game breaking bugs. The game felt like a let down to itself.
Not this time. The only Remastering I'm having around to release is one worth of showing, a clear example of mastering what you had, and refining it to be incredible amounts of not shit.
Granted, Menagerie was still a success, and I'm sure there are going to be people, rare however-- that will say the original was better than Remastered. Menagerie's failings were in its lack of character charm, poor balance and exploitable combat and fusion systems.
I also tried to cover way too many topics, and do too much in one game, now it should, while still being big, not feel over-packed.
However, when it comes time, you'll have your chance to play judge.

Perseverance: Coming soon.
I've recently entered a contest in which I have to make a game in a month, I figure I'll use this blog as a mean of telling you about it.
Perseverance is based around the adventures of Pep, and goes into his past for a brief time as the Red Rapscallion and his campaign as leader of the Perseverance Union, the stage is set in the 2040's after the Humans have left Earth and animals have taken their place as the predominant species of their respective habitats.
England has been overthrown by a dastardly despot, who has enforced worship to the order he has created, first by killing the monarchy and with a small army of eldritch pig monsters, has seized control of the country. His reign is Tyrannical and his leniency none.
A small rebel force symbolized by an Iconic P has started working against his dogmatic embassy. Its leader dies at the start of the game, leaving the banner of responsibility to his son, Pep Cookiedoe.
The Lichlord Naxon alone is powerful, to add he also has some incredibly powerful generals at his command. The titan-sized Commander Warthog, the fast and furious Saxxis and finally his cold, ruthless apprentice, Lady Frostbite.
Can Pep blast through four stages of action packed combat with the weapons he can scrounge up and put an end to the four bosses and myriad of minions that stand between him and democracy?
On the 31st of June, you'll have your chance to find out!
Details:
General:
-I'm only able to use open source materials for the project, thus I'll be counting on my team as well as some voice acting talent to fill the void areas that I have little to no experience in.
-There's five planned weapons, all of which will have differing gameplay.
-10 Different monster types are planned and each will be progressively tougher or more dangerous than the last.
-Four challenging bosses will be on stage for you to try your luck at.
-You can take zero damage, it'll be difficult, but you can do it. Each attack that isn't the enemy walking up to you will have a graphical cue showing where the damage will be.
-Enemies drop stuff, you should pick em up. They're shiny!
-Powerups can be found, including an Inspiring Poster (revives you from death with 50% Health), Red Cordial (Increases movement speed for a duration), Magic Bag (No Rounds spent during the duration.), Spiral Sucker (Invulnerable for the duration).
Characters:
Pep Cookiedoe
Pep Cookiedoe will be the only character playable in the game. He's an agile, slightly insane gunslinger whose impulsive nature makes him both revered and reviled. More on his character can be found on the CCC wiki which is currently under construction.
Sven Cookiedoe
Sven is a much more calm and collected sort, he envies in others that he doesn't seem capable of planning nothing out and just going at anything with wild abandon like his father and Pep. Sven serves as Pep's adviser during the length of the game.
Nola Worthington
Raised in the city, she moved to St. Albans to escape monitoring to such an extent. She joins Pep after he "saves" her from Lady Frostbite. Her demeanor is jolly, good natured and well meaning, she has a lot less difficulty showing concern or empathy in contrast to Pep or Sven.
Lady Frostbite
While seemingly near flirtatious on the surface, once her trap is sprung she's as cold as her name implies...
Saxxis
An ornery and deceptive sort, easy to anger and fast enough to earn him a place among the elite, Saxxis has no qualms with expending the minions at his disposal. His final show should be quite a flashy one.
Saxxis is the media organizer and head of current affairs, he like most close to the Lichlord, willingly serve Naxon and will die in his name.
Commander Warthog
Warthog (pronounced Warth-og, don't pronounce it Wart Hog, he hates that!) is an impetuous psychopath and one of enormous size, his left nostril could consume Pep whole. He stands above most high rise buildings, his weapon is a giant cleaver.
He is near invulnerable, and has a foreboding and deep sinister speaking manner. He serves Naxon willingly, and has been rewarded in kind.
Lichlord Naxon
Highlord Naxon is a titular figure, associated with the illuminati and
feared as much by those who work against him as those who work with him, he's a
powerful spellcaster, religious tyrant and unmatched necromancer. Even the fellow
Liches of Heldath fear him.

Characters:
Pep Cookiedoe
Unstable, reckless and determined. Such guile is needed.
Sven Cookiedoe
![]() |
He's not the badasserest badass, but he's the only one we've got.
Nola Worthington
Gracious Nola, what a mystical world you live in.
Lady Frostbite
She may be a vampire... it's hard to say though.
Saxxis wants you! To die painfully in otherworldly fire.
Saxxis is the media organizer and head of current affairs, he like most close to the Lichlord, willingly serve Naxon and will die in his name.
Commander Warthog
Property Damage is inevitable.
He is near invulnerable, and has a foreboding and deep sinister speaking manner. He serves Naxon willingly, and has been rewarded in kind.
Lichlord Naxon
The Naxonites worship this madman.
He is responsible for taking over London and later,
all of England.
He has transformed all those willing to serve his dark order into
eldritch pig monsters, and has had enough cunning and guile to entirely overthrow
the monarchy.
Fighting him would be incredibly dangerous, and Pep's the only
one crazy enough to do it.
Battle System:
It's entirely evented. The only script in the project under main is a copy of Window_TitleCommand that I modified myself. The battle's at the moment are in the basic stages, but they'll improve radically.
Here's a WIP of it so far.
